TODAY'S VIEW
Welcome to Austin where, at least this time of year, everything is fresh, green and wonderful. And they have the biggest Whole Foods ever. It's kind of like God put heaven in a concrete building with a side of local flair. I'll be back to talk about my 24 hours in this wonderful city ASAP. In the meantime, I'll be trying to convince Shayne {this has maybe happened before. What can I say? Austin just makes me happy} that we need to move South immediately.

TODAY'S VIEW
From the top of the Incline, in Manitou Springs. Where else can walking one mile take an hour and officially kick your butt? I think I'm heading back next week, anyone want to join?

LAST WEEKEND
You have to say "last" when it's been more than 24 hours, right?
Anyway.
Last weekend we:
Had popcorn for dinner and champagne for dessert.
We went for a hike,
sat in the sunshine,
and then ate a cinnamon roll for lunch.
We both got new sunnies
{Shayne picked them both out. And I was a huge fan.}
and thought about shopping at the J Crew Factory outlet,
but we didn't.
We did eat Thai food twice, frozen yogurt once,
and stuck a candle in a gluten-free cookie-brownie for my birthday.
Which happened to be on Mother's Day this year,
so we of course went wine tasting with my momma
and played ladder ball in the park with my grandma.
Sidenote: the popcorn/champagne combo? Who. would. have. thought. ?! Cross my heart that is not an everyday occurrence in our fish-and-veggie-dependant kitchen. But it was just what the doctor ordered to celebrate me growing up and landing a big kid job. Which I'll probably talk about some other time. Soon!
This picture happened somewhere in the middle, and pretty much sums up how photo-taking works in our home.
Done did.

HAPPY WEEKEND
Ladies and gentlemen, the sun is officially, finally, shining in Colorado. Which means that this weekend will {hopefully} be filled with all kinds of outdoor adventures...set to commence sometime after we chow down on the gigantic cinnamon roll and the chocolate donut my mom bought us yesterday at Tabor Mountain Bakehouse. First of all, good find Momma! And second...yum.
We hope your weekend is as sunshine-y and nice as ours is looking like it just might be!
P.S. I haven't had a donut in years. This is a very exciting time.

DON'T PANIC
This was last week. Also known as what we hope will be the last of the snow. It is cold and miserable-ish but raining today and that is a good sign in our world right now!
Since, you know, it's May. And according to common knowledge in the form of rhyming couplets {pretty sure that's what they're called. So much for my English degree}, it's April that's supposed to have the showers and May that's supposed to have the flowers and there is no mention of snow anywhere beyond March. So we've got to be close! Here's to trying to plant a garden in the very near future and not have it freeze.
Cheers.

HAPPINESS IS
1. Handmade tea stations and an ever-growing mug collection. Courtesy of one very handy husband!
2. Driving home after several days away.
3. Homemade fudge sauce. Well, more like homemade truffle sauce... #evenbetter
4. Knowing that someday, someday, the snow is going to go away for a little while (i.e. it will finally be summer).
5. Until then...fires in the wood burning stove. Thank goodness for that thing!
6. Snuggles.
7. Foam rolling. Except its kind of on the list of worst things ever, too...
8. Spring veggies. Yes, asparagus, we are talking to you.
9. The fact that, in about 24 hours, my dad is going to be touching down in Australia. Consider me caught between crazy excited and green with envy.
10. Late night conversations with my best friend.
